Pelletteria Viviani
In the heart of Florence, 2 blocks away from Palazzo Vecchio, Leonardo keeps his workshop exactly as his grandfather Renato Viviani built it 64 years ago. The 'bottega' is an homage to the ancient workshops of the old masters who lived in Florence during the Renaissance.
Renato started his career as an apprentice of Guccio Gucci, and quickly became a master leather craftsman himself. From the very first model to the current ones, each of his bags is named after a woman to whom he dedicates his work.
Pelletteria Artigiana Viviani is Florence. It's excellent craftsmanship. It's the history and art of the city. Let Pelletteria Artigiana Viviani bring you back in time, straight to the Florentine Renaissance.
Just two blocks away from the majestic city-center fortress of Palazzo Vecchio, in the beautiful city of Florence, Italy, lies the hidden gem of centuries-old craftsmanship - Pelletteria Viviani’s workshop. Nestled among the centuries-old cobblestone streets, this workshop has remained untouched for over 60 years, preserving the charm and grace of a bygone era in its humble premises.
Built in 1965 by Renato Viviani, a former apprentice of the legendary fashion magnate - Guccio Gucci, this quaint and traditional 'bottega' (craftsman's workshop) remains a living testament to the enduring quality and style of Italian craftsmanship. Today, the workshop is managed by the next generation of the Viviani family – his artful daughter Viviana and industrious nephew Leonardo.
What sets Pelletteria Viviani's workshop apart is the rarity of its open laboratory setup - a rare chance for visitors to witness the intricate craftsmanship processes in action. From the initial cutting and shaping to stitching and final touches, every process is carried out with an exquisite attention to detail that speaks of the brand's dedication to excellence.
Crafted with love and care, Pelletteria Viviani only opts for the finest locally sourced leathers from Santa Croce sull’Arno tanneries. Each piece of leather is painstakingly worked on with traditional artisanal techniques, paying homage to the rich heritage of the art. The lining of their products is in leather too, respecting and preserving the existing tradition.
Every product of Pelletteria Viviani exudes a sense of classic elegance, reflected in the timelessly classic yet sophisticated designs. However, this does not mean that the brand shies away from modern aesthetics. On the contrary, Viviani cleverly integrates modern experimental ideas with classical craftsmanship. Stand-out elements include a bold colour palette and unexpected detailings such as their signature bamboo handles which strike the perfect balance between tradition and modernity.
As the mainstay of Pelletteria Viviani, the brand's assortment of leather goods exemplify their unwavering commitment to preserving and promoting genuine Italian craftsmanship. From stylish handbags, clutches and wallets to belts, leather accessories and more, each product is a testament to the brand's dedication to quality, style, and authenticity.
PELLETTERIA VIVIANI elegantly combines the allure of old-world craftsmanship with a contemporary sensibility, creating leather goods that are not just accessories, but pieces of history that carry forward the legacy of traditional Italian craftsmanship.
